The Only Prepared Thing in my Life

So I know Tara has already done a post about an awesome smoothie, but I am going to tell you how I do a morning smoothie……Its just about the only thing in life  I am prepared for.

As I said before I have these amazing talented friends that are creative, hard working, multitaskers that are all around just prepared for life, or so it seems most of the time. Although I know looks can be deceiving, for example every blog post we have ever written!   I, on the other hand, am never prepared for anything. I really do live day by day just trying to make it through. My thoughts are scattered, my calendar is crazy, and  I can’t remember a damn thing.  I don’t know why this is. I only work 3 days a week,  I have 2 pretty great kids that are in school full time, and  an awesome hubby  that is certainly a team player.  I still just can’t manage to get my shit together.  My calendar is crazy because I have one kid that has a busier social calendar than I do,  and because  I say yes to every stinking thing I am invited to, even if I know in the back of my mind that date sounds familiar and I probably have something else going on.  I am just a habitual over booker. I think because I like to be a part of everything!  I love hanging out with my friends, and work peeps, and dance mom stuff, and still seeing high school friends etc. Just to many people to see all the time.

So that being said, I always end up at these parties where someone is selling something as their side hustle. You know them..Lularoe, ItWorks, Rodan and Fields, Usborne books.  Who can blame them, everyone these days could use a little side hustle.  I have tried it, with no success. Its hard work. The lack of success may be due to my inability to conquer my current life with out anything on the side going on. I have no idea what possessed me to try that except for the fact that I try everything I want to. Why not!   I don’t hate living day to day. I do feel like it keeps me truly happy. I have managed to stay anti-anxiety med free (not hating on yall that do take it..I know it works wonders), which is more than I can say for about 80% of the people I know by staying in my little happy bubble. I usually am oblivious to many things going on, but that helps me stay drama free and just floating in my cloud. I honestly feel like worrying about the future that may or may not come does no good. I live in the present, and most of the time can listen to my inner voice which tells me positive thoughts bring positive things. Okay..see..scattered thoughts. back to the smoothie.

I do like to start off both my day and the kids day with a smoothie. Mornings of course are always crazy so I need whatever is easy.  I saw one of my girlfriends post a picture of her “smoothie packs” on Facebook one day and I thought that was brilliant. So I figured out how to make my own version of what I like in my smoothie and how to prepare it in advance. This smoothie is a bit more simple than Tara’s. It has just the basics and of course you  can use whatever you usually like in yours. The reason for this post is to show you how to make them ahead of time! Mine contain….

Kale, banana, blueberries, and strawberries

So simple! Throw it all in a sandwich bag.  After I made the packs for the first time, I put a couple in the fridge and a couple in the freezer to see which way they worked out better. The freezer was the key. Kale and all!  You can seriously make as many as you want and keep them all in the freezer. Its fantastic. When you pull one out of the freezer add yogurt, and some water and blend. DONE!! The kids like strawberry yogurt in theirs and I like to use vanilla yogurt in mine. I also add about a teaspoon of coconut oil. Other extra options are Flax seed, and Chia seeds. You can find all of these in your local grocery store.

The one thing you can not find in the grocery store and the one thing I have successfully purchased from all of those parties that I have attended (yes my scattered thoughts are going back to the side hustle parties) is something I love to put in my smoothie. The same friend that I stole the smoothie packet idea from also sells ItWorks. I had to find something to buy from her, so I went with this little packet of Greens on the Go. It contains a million greens and is supposed to alkalize, balance, and detoxify your body. It is great replacement for coffee as it seems to really give me a lot of energy in the morning. Definitely something worth trying if you get coerced into going to one of these parties or would like to support a friend. This is a great choice.  Plus the berry flavor of the greens adds a little extra flavor to your smoothie.

So Make some smoothie packets to start off your day right. Whether or not you choose to add extras or just go with the basic pack and yogurt,  it has nutritional value,  its easy and fast. TRY IT!
